AMD Ryzen 7 5700 is a Cezanne APU for AM4 desktops without an integrated GPU
Gigabyte has listed an unannounced AMD Ryzen 5 5700 APU based on “Cezanne” silicon that lacks an integrated GPU.
AMD Ryzen 7 5700 APU has 8 Zen 3 cores but no Vega iGPU, for budget PCs?
This is the first time the APU has appeared online. The APU appeared in the CPU Support section of the Gigabyte X570 AORUS XTREME.
As for the specs, the AMD Ryzen 5 5700 will have 8 cores and 16 threads, a base frequency of 3.7 GHz and a boost frequency of up to 4.6 GHz. In addition, the processor has a 4MB L2 cache and a 16MB L3 cache, which is relatively less than the Ryzen 7 5700X because the APUs use a monolithic design that differs from the chiplet design of standard Ryzen processors differs.
The AMD Ryzen 5 5700 APU has similar power consumption to its 65W-rated counterparts. It’s important to note that the processor is in stage A0, which suggests the chip is likely a technical one This is a copy and may be subject to change prior to final production. This particular processor is not yet available from other motherboard manufacturers, but Gigabyte should know more as it is fully listed on its support page.
A likely conclusion is that AMD may be working on budget chips for its AM4 platform to liquidate some of the remaining Zen 3 inventory. The APU could be a good option if the price ranges from $120 to $150, which actually makes it a very good option for budget PC builders who can get an AM4 card for less than $100. AMD’s AM4 motherboards offer some great sub-$100 designs compared to the newer AMD A620 products, most of which don’t even have a basic VRM heatsink. There are no further details on the price and availability of the processor, and the company has not yet made an official announcement.
