American Airlines crew and passengers were forced to remove and tape up a screaming man before a flight to Miami International Airport on Friday evening.
The unidentified man was preparing to board American Airlines Flight 948 at Brazil's Rio de Janeiro/Galeão International Airport when he suffered a nervous breakdown and said “help” and “you're killing me” in Spanish, according to ABC Local 10.
The screaming passenger was held as the intense scene unfolded on board the plane before security picked him up at the airport.
The five brave men – four passengers and an airline employee – worked together to subdue the man, applying duct tape to his arms and head, while also fending off blows from the unruly passenger in one of the plane's galleys, like a exclusive WPLG video showed.

While one passenger worked to bind the man's ankles, another tried to tape his mouth shut, but failed because the man's head continued to spin around.
He was heard repeatedly screaming “no” as the men tried various methods to calm him down.
“Hold my hand” and “Breathe” were just some of the techniques used.
A cause for the meltdown was not disclosed.

Despite the frightening ordeal, the flight landed in Miami 13 minutes ahead of schedule, according to FlightAware.
No arrests have been made, the outlet added.
According to 9News, a 28-year-old man had to be restrained aboard Qantas flight QF46 between Bali and Melbourne after he assaulted a crew member during the flight on December 30.
“If you don’t get away from me, I’m going to fuck you,” he told passengers on board, the outlet reported.
It took five passengers to bring down the belligerent traveler, who was handed over to police for questioning but against whom no charges were brought.
