This comes after Australian lingerie company Honey Birdette was forced to defend its brand in April after it was hit with homophobic and transphobic slurs for using DuPree to promote a bra.
The brand posted two photos on Instagram of Jake Dupree wearing its $460 three-piece “Ruby Red” set, which includes a bra, G-string and suspenders.
Honey Birdette said the backlash over the use of Los Angeles-based burlesque dancer Dupree was “bullying.”
The images, taken by fashion photographer Max Bronner, show Dupree on stage in underwear and a body chain.

But shortly after the photos were posted online, there were so many negative comments that Honey Birdette blocked the comments.
“Honey Birdette promotes an inclusive and diverse environment and we will continue to use our voice to empower and support the LGBTQ+ community, women and anyone who wants to feel great in our underwear,” the company wrote.
“While thoughtful and constructive discussions are important to advance culture, hate speech and bullying will not be tolerated on our channels.”
“Comments like this will be deleted.” @jakedupree, you are so talented and have our full support!’
Dupree also spoke out, saying the comments were “difficult to understand” for him.
He also thanked Honey Birdette, which was founded in Sydney in 2006, for “standing up against this hate”.
