Álex Rins has claimed victory in the MotoGP race of the Grand Prix of the Americas to be held this Sunday at Austin Circuit (USA). The third stop of the premier class of the Motorcycle World Championship leaves Bezzecchi, winner of the last race at Termas de Río Hondo, in the lead of the General after Bagnaia crashed first and surrendered the lead of the test to Honda Spanish. Four other Spaniards such as Álex Márquez, Aleix Espargaró, Jorge Martín and Joan Mir also retired from the race after their falls. Only 13 riders crossed the finish line. Marini was second and Quartararo third. Bagnaia was the fastest in both qualifying and the sprint on Saturday. It was another race where Marc Márquez was absent due to a fractured metacarpal bone in the thumb of his right hand from his accident with Miguel Oliveira at the Portuguese GP.

The truth is that it was a crash-heavy elimination race with only 13 riders finishing. Strange in the sense that it was good weather and temperature. We don’t know if there was a problem on the track, but the truth is that the glitches have been constant since the start of the test.
And special mentions go to both Maverick Viñales and Miguel Oliveira. The two Aprilia drivers finished fourth and fifth.
Marco Bezzecchi couldn’t get past 6th despite retaining the lead in the MotoGP standings after Francesco Bagnaia crashed out while leading the race. The Italian pilot of the Mooney VR46 team is eleven points ahead of his compatriot.
Fabio Quartararo drove a sensational race and finished third to take his first podium of the season. The French driver hadn’t been pigeonholed since last year’s Malaysian Grand Prix when he also finished third.
Luca Marini was second and made it onto the podium for the first time in his MotoGP career. He hadn’t achieved a podium since the 2020 Catalan Grand Prix when he was a member of Moto2.
