American Idol star Kellie Pickler’s singer-songwriter husband has shot himself dead at their Nashville home.

Kyle Jacobs, 49, was found Friday in a locked upstairs bedroom and office. His 12-year-old wife was home at the time and called 911 when she couldn’t find him.

Officers responded to the call at 1:21 p.m. local time on Friday.

“Officials and personnel from the Nashville Fire Department responded and found resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, who had died from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office,” Nashville Police Department said in a statement.

“His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide.”

Spokesman Don Aaron said everyone else at the home is safe.

Pickler, 36, rose to fame in 2006 as a contestant on American Idol’s fifth season, finishing sixth. In 2006 she signed as a recording artist with 19 Recordings and BNA Records.

Residence and other records place the couple there, and property records state the home was last purchased by Pickler’s manager, Julie Boos, in 2010.

Officers from the Police Department’s West Precinct and Nashville Fired Department rushed to the first call and were later followed by a team of detectives and officers from the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Pickler is a country star with hits he co-wrote with Taylor Swift, such as “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful” and “Best Days of Your Life.”

She married Jacobs on January 1, 2011.

The couple’s most recent residence documents are from 2018 and are stored in the house.

Jacobs also has an Alaskan hunting and fishing license registered on the property as of May 2021.

“We are investigating an apparent suicide at a home on Sneed Road at the President’s,” police spokesman Don Aaron said.

He told DailyMail.com: “The call came in at 1:21pm.

“Sneed Road is in the West District of our police department, so the West District officers, as well as the Nashville Fire Department, responded to that first call.

“Since then, a detective team has responded.

“The apparent suicide involves a man, an adult.”

The Nashville Police Department spokesman added that the coroner’s office later attended, saying it was normal in one-fatal incidents.

Located on Sneed Road in a suburb south of downtown Nashville, the home has four bedrooms and a bathroom and a half, according to a Zillow list.

It was last purchased in 2010 for $1.4 million and is now worth an estimated $2.4 million.

The purchase was made by Julie Boos, owner of music management company FBMM in Tennessee and manager of Pickler.
