The masked man of the Chicago Wolves, academy of the Carolina Hurricanes, pulled off the rare feat in a 4-1 win over the Manitoba Moose at Canada Life Centre.

With just under three minutes to go, the Russian keeper took his chance. He captured the puck from behind his cage before throwing it into the opponent’s net.

His furious jubilation ー he threw himself on the bay window ー was almost as spectacular as his goal.

Additionally, his elation seemed to have frustrated Moose’s players. Late in the game, a big scrum broke out with captain Jimmy Oligny.

23-year-old Kochetkov already has 22 playing experiences in the National Hockey League. Compensating for Frederik Andersen’s absence with the Canes, he posted a 10-4-5 record and a .913 save rate in 2022-23.
