- That kings opted for non-tender left-handers Jake Brentz and right handed Nate Webb, the team announced. That’s no surprise as both players were scheduled for action earlier this week. They lost their 40-man roster spots as a result, but not bidding means Kansas City doesn’t have to put them through waivers before sending them straight to free agency. MLB.com’s Anne Rogers tweets that Kansas City post contracts for the remainder of their arbitration class, inclusive Brad Keller and Amir Garrett — each of which seemed to have a small chance of being unleashed after tough seasons.

Guerra is the most experienced of the trio, having made his MLB debut in 2015 and playing 136 games. Unfortunately, he required surgery on Tommy John in April and missed the entire 2022 campaign and possibly part of 2023 as well.
- That Red Sox are non-calling outfielders/first basemen Franchise Cordero, according to MassLive.com’s Chris Cotillo. Cordero appeared in 84 games for the Red Sox last season but hit just .219/.300/.397 with eight home runs while finishing very poorly on defense.
- That Astros will separate from Reliever JoshJameshow Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports that they will not write him out tonight. He spent the entire 2022 season with the minors and underwent flexor tendon surgery in October and has no timetable for a return.
