“American Pie” star Thomas Ian Nicholas is UNRECECOGNIZABLE in a new interview nearly 25 years after the raunchy teen film was released

American Pie star Thomas Ian Nichols looked unrecognizable almost 25 years after the raunchy teen film was released.

The former child star – now 43 – made a very different appearance during a recent media stop on the morning news show KTLA 5 in Los Angeles.

Thomas had longer hair and a full goatee, quite a change from his signature role as Kevin in the raunchy teen comedy nearly a decade and a half ago.

The actor reprized his role in the 1999 film several times in the franchise, most recently in 2012’s “American Reunion.”

Thomas continued his acting career steadily as he appeared on the new local show to talk about his new Tubi mockumentary titled Underdeveloped.

He was joined on the program by fellow executive producers and co-stars Kelly Arjen and Brian A. Metcalf.

With the Screen Actors Guild and Writers Guild of America currently on a long-running strike, many stars have been unable to promote their projects as usual without a waiver.

Thomas addressed this when he said, “We got our SAG waiver and here’s basically the thing.” We have 160,000 SAG members and 87 percent of them make less than $25,000 a year, and for we fight them.

“With our SAG waiver, since the SAG wants to receive 11 percent instead of 2 percent of the remaining amounts and the AMPTP is only offering 5 percent, which is why we are striking, we are paying our actors 11 percent, that is why we can move forward.”

Since he is an experienced actor, Thomas previously spoke in 2021 about his experiences with early fame in Hollywood, from a strange moment on the set of “Rookie of the Year” with Gary Busey to memories of “A Kid in King Arthur’s Court” . ‘ Co-star Daniel Craig’s Marijuana Collection.

Although he is best known for his role in American Pie, his career began much earlier with TV commercials in the early ’80s and starring roles in films in the early to mid ’90s.

Speaking to Vice in March 2021, Thomas shared some of his memories on set with his very famous co-stars, including the time he drank his first beer ever with Kate Winslet at the age of 14.

Thanks to a family connection, Thomas got his start in Hollywood. His mother, a casting director who found background actors for low-budget films, gave him his first role as an altar boy.

But it wasn’t until 1988, when he was eight years old, that he landed his first role as “Little Tony” Danza in Who’s the Boss? Flashback.

Thomas attended many auditions throughout his childhood, but unlike some other child stars, he insists his mother didn’t pressure him to stay in the business and checked in regularly to make sure he still wanted to do it.

In 1989 he landed another TV role, this time as Ricky Blount in an episode of Baywatch, followed by a two-part episode of Married… With Children.

Before his big break with 1993’s “Rookie of the Year,” he had several smaller roles in which he played Henry Rowengartner, a boy who suddenly pitches at the pro level and joins the Chicago Cubs.

One of his most lasting memories from making the film is of co-star Gary Busey once yelling at Nicholas’ mother on set.

Another time, Busey, then 50, pulled an elementary school prank on 12-year-old Nicholas.

“One day he came up behind me in line in the cafeteria and poked me. “I was just trying to get my lunch and then he grabbed me by my underwear, gave me the ultimate wedgie and carried me about 25 feet across the dining room in front of 100 crew members,” he recalls.

“I just took it in my stride because Gary was really nice to me.” [otherwise]. If that was the brunt of it, I was okay with it. Because there were far worse antics.’

Nicholas also has some memorable moments with his co-stars in the 1995 Disney classic A Child in King Arthur’s Court, which he filmed when he was 14 years old.

“I’m pretty sure they filled a bathtub with it and dried it out. And they said it was terrible.”

“I actually had my first beer in a pub with Kate Winslet,” he added (in the film with Kate Wilson, left, and Daniel Craig, center)

Although Nicholas didn’t say he drank cannabis in the bath, he did enjoy his first beer ever in England during post-production.

“I actually had my first beer with Kate Winslet in a pub,” he said.

Just before the turn of the millennium, Nicholas landed his biggest role ever: Kevin, a high school student who just wants to have sex, in American Pie.

He was actually lucky with the role: it was originally supposed to go to Andrew Keegan, who had to give up the role because of filming “10 Things I Hate About You.”

Thomas didn’t share any wild memories from the set, although he did reflect on one of the film’s most famous scenes, when Shannon Elizabeth’s character changes as an exchange student and some of the guys secretly watch via webcam.

“They would probably do it differently today,” he said.

“They would probably do it differently today,” he said. “There are a lot of things that are being canceled now.” So it’s definitely not the right time to break the mold with a teen sex comedy.

Nicholas said the scene was an homage to a similar scene in the 1981 film “Porky’s,” involving a girls’ locker room, although he admitted it wouldn’t make it into a movie today.

“They would probably do it differently today,” he said.

“But at the same time there’s a little bit of, ‘What do we call it now?’ I don’t want to pigeonhole a term, but there are a lot of things that are being eliminated now. So it’s definitely not the right time to break the mold with a teen sex comedy.”

Several of his co-stars have also recently commented on the scene, with Jason Biggs telling BuzzFeed in 2020 that it was “a very specific time” but wouldn’t be filming today.

“It would be unacceptable what that means, but I remember reading the script and that part at the time and being shocked that there were cameras on computers! That’s what I originally took away from it!” he said.

“People are having these conversations the way they should be,” he continued. “Again, the internet has changed everything, but specifically around sex and teenagers, the conversation today is completely different than it was over 20 years ago, so the art that is created around the internet has to be completely different.”

Meanwhile, Shannon Elizabeth spoke to the New York Post in 2019 about the scene, noting not only the non-consensual webcast, but also the fact that her character Nadia was punished for it by being sent back to her home country – at the hands of the boys who were her actually filmed, had no consequences.

“If this had come out after the #MeToo movement, there would definitely be a problem.” “I think it would have turned out differently,” she said.
