Americans, Brits and French are among the 1,260 dead in the conflict between the Israeli army and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. Nine Americans were reported dead, while ten British and eight French lost their lives, went missing or were taken hostage.

According to BBC International, the identities of the American victims have not been revealed. A US spokesman said the country was “closely monitoring” the situation and keeping in touch with “Israeli partners, particularly local authorities.”

President Joe Biden said the United States’ support for Israel is “solid and unwavering.” US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said Biden’s leadership was to “ensure that we provide Israel with everything it needs to deal with Hamas attacks during this time.”

Among the British casualties was Nathanel Young, who served in the Israeli Defense Forces. He is the only Briton confirmed dead. The other nine, whose names were not released, may be dead, missing or taken hostage by the terrorist group Hamas.

In France, a single victim was identified: young Avidan T., 26 years old, born in Bordeaux in the southwest of the country. It is unknown whether he is dead, missing or taken hostage. Deputy Meyer Habib wrote on Twitter that he had spoken to the victim’s father, who confirmed his son’s disappearance.

No Brazilian has been reported dead so far, but three are missing. They were identified as Bruna Valeanu, Ranani Nidejelski Glazer, both 24 years old, and Karla Stelzer Mendes, 41 years old.
