At the beginning of the season, Henrique received the actress’s Golden Buzzer an advantage that ensured him a direct entry into the semifinals of the competition, in which the winner is awarded a prize of 1 million US dollars (almost R5 million) after she sang Whitney Houston’s hit “Run To You” during the auditions.

Gabriel’s performance left Sofia tearyeyed and she could barely speak after the performance was over. “I don’t even know what to say, it was perfect! You are like an angel, you are definitely a star, it was beautiful. I think people will vote for you. I have goosebumps,” Vergara said. Henrique, in turn, was very touched by the jury’s reaction and thanked her in Portuguese.
After the show ended, ET’s Deidre Behar caught up with the actress and she discussed her reaction to the Brazilian’s performance. “I mean, it was super emotional,” Sofia said of her crying.
The judge admitted that the song chosen was a surprise for both her and fellow judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel. “I was surprised by the song because, you know, it’s a very difficult song. It’s a song that I don’t think we expected. I think we were expecting a diva song and then it would go crazy. And so at first I was like, “Yeah, no, he’s not going to be able to go as far as he can with this song.” [Mas] did you see. You heard it!” she said, impressed.
