For Rita, the challenges at the “Amici 22” school are even more demanding than her classmates. In fact, the dancer suffers from dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. The latter in particular hinders her dancing because she has to calculate mentally and cannot concentrate on expressiveness.

Rita in challenge for expressiveness
Precisely for this reason Emanuel Lo, unaware of her problems, had sent her to the challenge because after a month he had not noticed any improvement in her compared to the beginning. “I’ve noticed a big problem that’s hard to solve regarding your lack of expressiveness. That’s why I decided to challenge you against a very, very expressive girl,” the choreographer told her.

The dancer in tears: “I don’t want an alibi”
After seeing her rival, Rita admitted: “I know her. She is very good, more than me. In addition to the technique, she also has the power of expression.” At this point, Maria De Filippi invites her to explain her problem to everyone: “You know because you are not expressive, you explained it to me. It is something you are not responsible for and should have talked about before, something to be ashamed of, in fact it is a medal to try to overcome.”

The presenter then explains to her classmates: “Rita was born with a small disorder that affects reading, writing and counting. She dances counting, otherwise she has no time and concentrates on it.” The dancer would have preferred not to reveal her suffering in order not to create an alibi for her performances, but Maria makes it clear that this is an explanation from the professors, um to better assess them. After telling the truth, the dancer lets herself be carried away by a cry of release, embraced by her companions.

Alessandra Celentano: “Why didn’t Rita tell me?”
In the hall, Rita meets Alessandra Celentano, who says: “I spoke to Maria. I finally know everything! The teacher then follows the steps with her student to learn choreography: memorizing the steps, associating with music by counting, and finally working on the expressiveness.

“When you are busy counting, it is impossible for you to express feelings. I feel guilty too, why didn’t you tell me? If I had known, I would not have told you what I told you. This point no longer makes sense and I will ask for withdrawal from the challenge”. For the teacher, the primary concern is to adapt the work to Rita’s situation: “Knowing this, we will treat her differently. We’re going to try to get a whole bunch of things right for you.”
