Amy Schumer threatened death for pranking Kirsten Dunst at the Oscars

Mexico City.- Comedian Amy Schumer admitted that she received multiple death threats because of a joke made during the Oscars on March 27.

Speaking Wednesday for The Howard Stern Show, Schumer said the prank was consensual and choreographed with contestants Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons.

At the Oscars ceremony, where Schumer was one of the conductors, she lifted Dunst from her seat and said she was a “seat filler” and began speaking to Plemons, Dunst’s husband, both of whom were nominated at the gala.

“I appreciate the love for Kirsten Dunst. I love you to! I wouldn’t show any respect to a queen like that,” he said.

He added that he came out to respond because the criticism had gotten out of control, even leading to death threats.

“It was like, ‘Hey, I think they got the number wrong. It’s Amy, not Will (Smith).’ The misogyny is unbelievable,” Schumer said.

The actress shared that the Los Angeles Police Department was already aware of the threats she received.
