Singer Amy Sheppard reveals pressures of being skinny in candid interview: ‘I was photoshopped without my permission’
Amy Sheppard spoke on Wednesday’s The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show about the pressures of being skinny at the height of her career.
The 32-year-old Australian singer rose to fame in 2014 as a member of the band Sheppard, which she formed with siblings George and Emma.
As they became international sensations with their hit single “Geronimo,” Amy began receiving “subtle messages” about losing weight.
“We’ve been to LA and Europe doing photoshoots…I got styled.” I got my picture taken. “I was photoshopped without my permission,” she said.
“All of these things really affect your confidence … It’s just the message.” The subtle message. If you look at all the other pop stars, you see they’re tiny.’

It comes just a few months after Amy shared candid photos on social media of herself posing in a bikini after gaining weight.
The side-by-side images showed the flattering bikini photo the Geronimo hitmaker “posted” and the more realistic image, which she “deleted.”
In both photos, the blue-haired beauty wore the same black and white animal print bikini as she enjoyed a day at the beach.

“Posted vs. deleted.” “You know the story: same person, same day,” the singer wrote in her caption.
“There’s nothing wrong with either photo, but one is curated and the other is candid.” Keep that in mind the next time you scroll through your favorite influencer’s feed.

In her caption, she wrote: “I GOT WEIGHT… DON’T PAGE ME. This is not “toxic fat”. That soft, juicy extra layer is FREEDOM.
“It’s a dinner with my beautiful friends; it’s a romantic walk to have an ice cream with my partner; It means YES to new foods when traveling.
“It means being content every day instead of being disadvantaged and irritable every day.”
“That extra weight is my life and I could never trade it for a tiny pair of jeans again.”
