Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch Winehouse, is suing two of the singer's friends, Naomi Parry and Catriona Gourlay, alleging they profited from the sale of the singer's personal property at auction. According to Chron, Mitch is demanding compensation of 730,000 pounds, the equivalent of R$4.5 million, as well as explanations about the origin of the items.
In his submission to the High Court of London, Amy's father explained that the defendants sent “a number of Amy's personal items during her lifetime” to two auctions, one in 2021 and another this year. They offered the items for sale “in their own name and for their own benefit” and “converted” the late artist’s property “for their own use.”
Mitch is demanding £534,000 (approximately R$2.3 million) from Parry, who was not only a friend but also the singer's stylist, and £198,000 (approximately R$1.2 million) from Gourlay.
