An ex-soldier in distress keeps the police in Arvida on tenterhooks –

A 40-year-old ex-soldier was arrested late on Monday evening by police in Saguenay under special circumstances.

In the video above you can see the images and explanations from Luc Tardif of the Saguenay City Police Department.

The man, who was visibly in distress, had parked his van at around 7:00 p.m. directly on the premises of the Saguenay police headquarters in Carré Davis. His motive is unknown.

He was brought under control around 10:45 p.m.

Police initially set up a security perimeter in downtown Arvida and asked vendors to stay inside without looking out the window.

The suspect was taken to Chicoutimi Hospital Center. He could potentially face charges of making threats.
