The Sûreté du Québec is asking for the public’s help in locating a man being held at the Quebec Detention Center who escaped Thursday night.
The event occurred around 8:30 p.m. when inmate Dave Gingras-Gudet was enjoying a trip to the building’s courtyard.

The 37-year-old is said to have broken through the fence around the provincial prison with the help of two other prisoners and fled on foot. However, few details are known about how the three men acted.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) assures that the fugitive’s accomplices will be met later in the day and that no other detainee has attempted to escape.

Patrol officers from the SQ and Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) tried unsuccessfully to locate Gingras-Gaudet Thursday night. That’s why the authorities are now appealing to the population to find him.
The occupant is 1.70 meters tall and weighs 63 kg. He has brown hair, as does his goatee, and green eyes. He also has tattoos on his arms, back and chest.
When he escaped, the 30-year-old wore a black T-shirt and light-colored jeans.

“If you see the person, contact the authorities. [au 1-800-659-4264] and above all not to intervene with him, ”says Béatrice Dorsainville, spokeswoman for the SQ.
With a long track record in criminal cases, Dave Gingras-Gaudet made headlines in a raid in the old capital last February. He was specifically charged with possession of a prohibited firearm and concealment.
