There are significant traffic jams around the Lamentin activity area. The unions acted. FO-CGTM Commerce – CSTM – CDMT – CGTM-FSM blocked access to the commercial sector from La Lézarde to Lamentin for five hours this Thursday. Wooden pallets are visible on the street.

The organizations are primarily calling for the start of trade sector negotiations, wage increases, the allocation of Covid premiums and the end of the conflict at Carrefour Market du François through negotiations.
The paralysis of the business world this Thursday, April 28th, is denounced by the AMPI (Martiniquaise Association for the Promotion of Industry).
Martinique’s industrial activity has come to a standstill in the Lézarde area since 5 a.m. this morning. The production and delivery of manufactured products are blocked. Hundreds of industrial workers are trapped in this intolerable situation. However, the situation of companies in Martinique has already deteriorated significantly due to the economic context (exit of the pandemic here, but recovery in China, crisis in Ukraine, etc.). While AMPI supports social dialogue, it strongly condemns the current road closure and calls for the immediate lifting of roadblocks and free access to the area for local Martinican productions. She calls on the authorities and interested parties to assume their responsibilities.
