An NBA champion in hot water

Former basketball star Rajon Rondo was arrested in Indiana on Sunday afternoon for what was initially a routine traffic stop.

According to TMZ, we can read in Jackson County Jail records that the two-time NBA champion faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and illegal possession of a firearm.

He was reportedly put behind bars around 4 p.m. and then released on bail.

Rondo is not his first run-in with the law. In 2022, a woman filed an emergency protective order against him after he assaulted her and brandished a weapon. The case was dropped a few weeks later.

The man, who played 16 seasons in the NBA, was also sued in 2020 by a woman who was injured in an altercation between the ex-player and his wife.

Rondo played for 10 Silver Tour teams, but primarily for the Boston Celtics. With this team he won his first championship in 2008 and triumphed again in 2020 with the Los Angeles Lakers.
