Anaheim Ducks: “I get a text every time they lose” – Connor Bedard

The Anaheim Ducks are in good shape to pick up the first-ever pick in the upcoming National Hockey League (NHL) draft. Aware of this reality, forward Mason McTavish doesn’t hesitate to write to Connor Bedard after each of his team’s losses.

Bedard revealed this during an interview with James Duthie that was broadcast on the TSN network in December. Widely identified as the very first pick for the next auction, so far has amassed 45 goals and 91 points in 38 games with the Regina Pats of the Western Junior Hockey League (WHL).

“No, no, I don’t [regarde pas le classement tous les jours]said Bedard. I get a text from McTavish every time they lose, but I don’t watch at all. I have so many things to do. There’s about 30 games left with the Pats and then hopefully the playoffs. I focus on one day at a time.

The two players played together at the 2022 World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton last summer.

The Ducks are currently 30th of 32 teams overall and four points ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets going into Tuesday night’s games.
