As Anahí and Andrés García publicly expressed great appreciation for each other and did not hesitate to show it, there were many voices expressing suspicion and wanting to see a romance where there was only friendship. It all started in 1999 when the artists in the cast of the soap opera “Mujeres engañadas” coincided.
In this drama, the duo brought to life a father and daughter. A great friendship was formed there that has lasted to this day. At the time, García was 60 and the ex-RBD was 17. Given the heartthrob’s history, rumors swirled that there was more than friendship between the two stars.
It wasn’t until 2021 that Garcia decided to put an end to the malicious comments and spoke out about it. “No. I saw Anahí as a daughter, nothing more. She was a lovely girl and now she’s a lovely lady, she’s very charming but there never was anything like it,” he replied to the matter in question one morning on the program.
Anahí had done the same thing before, stating, “Today I’m here to speak about a person who, as you all know, is like a father to me. He’s an angel because in the worst moments when I was most out of place in the living and the sick and things you all already know there was one person who always cared for me, who cared about looked after me, who advised me and guided me on the right path”.
When she speaks of these “worst moments,” Anahí is referring to her teenage years, when she faced severe eating disorders. At that time, the actress who gave life to the famous Mía Colucci settled for some time in Acapulco, Guerrero, in the actor’s house. There she lived with him and his wife Margarita Portillo, who took care of her as if she were their own daughter.
With that in mind, it’s not surprising that Anahí García is so close and doesn’t hesitate to support her when needed, especially after the heartthrob was diagnosed with cirrhosis last year and battled a severe pneumonia that landed him in the hospital.

The former RBD traveled to Acapulco to visit her boyfriend Andrés García and shared it on her Instagram stories.
In the first week of the year, Anahí visited her friend and met him in person. He left evidence of the meeting in some photos he shared via his Instagram Stories, accompanying the following message: “I adore you with all my heart. I’m always there for you. A life of genuine affection and gratitude.” The artist duo appeared very happy and loving, as if time had not passed and health issues had not affected the lover.
