Analyst: Apple's successor to the iPhone 16 Pro Max with three 48-megapixel cameras – notebookcheck.biz

A few months ago, Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu announced that the next generation of iPhone (Apple) will feature a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera for the first time, at least in both Pro models (iPhone). 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max), assuming the latter isn't renamed iPhone 16 Ultra, as has been rumored for some time.

Today Mr. Pu published another analysis of the future of the iPhone (via Macrumors) and looks even further into the future. In 2025, almost two years after the release of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the 12-megapixel cameras will finally be replaced, at least in the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which will not only have a 48-megapixel main camera and an ultra-wide-angle camera Angle camera, but also a 48 megapixel telephoto lens. Whether this is also the normal Pro model is not mentioned in the analysis and technical details are still missing.

According to Pu, the new zoom camera will be optimized specifically for the Vision Pro spatial computing glasses, which will be released in early 2024. Of course, these early hints about Apple products should be taken with great caution, especially since Apple's plans for 2025 are far from finalized. Still, Apple appears to be at least moving in the same direction as the rest of the smartphone industry, albeit at a much slower pace.
