Anant Ambani says his mother worked 18 hour days for four months to organize his pre-wedding party.
During the celebrations, Ambani thanked his family in a speech that moved his father Mukesh Ambani to tears.
The lavish three-day party in Gujarat, India even included a performance by Rihanna.
Anant Ambani says his mother, Nita Ambani, worked 18 hours a day in the four months leading up to his wedding reception, which attracted celebrities from around the world.
The youngest son of Asia's richest man gave a speech during the weekend's celebrations and thanked his family for making the event happen.
“All this was created by my mother and no one else, and my mother has given everything in the last four months,” Ambani said in a video of the speech uploaded by Indian newspaper Business Today. “She worked, I think, 18, 19 hours a day, and I’m extremely grateful to Mom. Thank you.”
He shared that his family had been sleeping “less than three hours a day” for the past few months in preparation for the party.
During his speech, Ambani also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to his family for his upbringing.
“As many of you know, my life has not been a bed of roses. I have also experienced the pain of thorns. I have faced many health crises since childhood, but my father and mother never made me feel like… “I suffered,” Ambani said in the video.
“My father and mother have always stood by me, and my father and mother have always made me feel that if I can think, I will. “And that’s how much my father and my mother mean to me, and I’m forever grateful,” he said.
At one point, Ambani's words brought tears to his father Mukesh Ambani's eyes, according to the video.
The elder Ambani is the richest person in Asia and the 11th richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of $113 billion, according to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index.
Ambani is expected to marry Radhika Merchant, daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant, in July. The couple kicked off their pre-wedding celebrations in Gujarat, India on Friday.
The lavish three-day celebration, attended by the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and Ivanka Trump, also included a performance by Rihanna.
