Claudia Raia will appear in Terra e Paixão for the first time in the episode that will air next Monday (23), but the actress’ character will be much more than just Luigi’s (Rainer Cadete) mother. Emengarda will arrive in Nova Primavera keeping a disturbing secret from Agatha (Eliane Giardini): she is a serial killer.
Claudia Raia’s character will appear in the soap opera and ask for financial help for her son. In her first scene, she is thrown out of a hotel for not paying the hotel bill. Emengarda is penniless and is going to rob a gaucho tourist in the city and look for Luigi, who is looking for money. She will even steal items from Antônio’s (Tony Ramos) house and Graça’s (Agatha Moreira) shop.
Five chapters later, Emengarda and Agatha will almost collide outside the inn, but neither will see the other. “We won’t see each other for now,” the writing team warned the cast in the synopsis of the soap opera. The delay is intended to further intensify the atmosphere of mystery surrounding a possible relationship between the two.
The truth is that Luigi’s mother will be shocked when she sees Agatha and will reveal to her son that she knows her from other carnivals. Emengarda who will ask to be called Emmy will tell the Italian that Caio’s mother (Cauã Reymond) killed several inmates in the prison where she was serving time for the murder of Evandro (Rafael Cardoso).
Emengarda will say that Agatha used poison to kill her rivals, just like she killed Ruan (Tairone Vale). Worried, the pickaxe asks Luigi to be very careful with the shrew as he knows it is very dangerous.
Written by Walcyr Carrasco and Thelma Guedes, Terra e Paixão is set in the fictional town of Nova Primavera in Mato Grosso do Sul. The plot will be broadcast until January next year, when it will be replaced by the remake of Renascer (1993).
