Jairo Concha became a new reinforcement of University of Sports for the club's 100th anniversary. The Peruvian soccer player comes to the student store after playing three seasons with Alianza Lima and becoming a two-time national champion. Concha's relationship with Alianza ended at the end of 2023 and after an extension agreement was not reached, the midfielder remained a free agent.
Last Wednesday, January 10th, Jairo Concha was officially announced as the new Universitario player and this Thursday, the 11th, he came forward for the first time through his social networks with an emotional message.

The 24-year-old midfielder's publication sparked various reactions and comments. One of those who did not hesitate to speak out was his former teammate in the blue and white team Andrés Andrade, who congratulated him.
“With everything Jairoco, congratulations bro,” “Rifle” wrote in Concha’s post on Instagram. Andrade is currently without a team as he recovers from an ACL injury following knee surgery. As we recall, Andrade had an eventful farewell to the Victorian team at the end of the 2023 season, arguing that he was not supported because of his injury.

What did Jairo Concha say after signing with Universitario?
The former San Martín footballer took to his social networks to leave a message to all his followers, assuring that reaching the “U” was a dream come true.
“For me, arriving at Universitario is a dream come true. I am taking this big step with a lot of responsibility and gratitude. I will leave my soul on the field and thank everyone for their messages and good wishes,” he wrote on his official Instagram account.
