The sports manager is the subject of a dismissal application in court in Italy with 11 other ex-executives for alleged breaches of Juventus finances.

Andrea Agnelli will resign from the board of directors of Stellantis, where he represented the Fiat founder’s family, under pressure from a court probe into possible accounting fraud at Juventus, the automaker said on Wednesday. Andrea Agnelli resigned from his mandate as President of Juventus Turin at the end of November. He is the subject of a court dismissal petition in Italy with 11 other ex-executives at the club for alleged breaches of Juve’s finances, which are listed on the stock exchange.

The club is suspected of manipulating the market by disseminating biased financial information but also preparing invoices for non-existent transactions in the 2018-2021 period. Andrea Agnelli, appointed for a four-year term in early 2021, “will resign as a member of the Stellantis Board of Directors,” according to a press release, specifying that “the resignation will take effect upon the close of the annual general meeting of the group meeting in the spring. The exact date will be announced.

Nor will Andrea Agnelli stand for re-election to the board of directors of Exor, the Agnelli family investment company that brings together the various holdings. At the Juventus general assembly held on Wednesday to elect his successor Gianluca Ferrero at the helm of the club, he announced his decision to step down from all the posts he holds on the boards of the Exor companies.
