Australian singer Andrew Lambrou says ‘post-Eurovision depression is real’ after representing Cyprus with song ‘Break A Broken Heart’

Last week he took the world stage by storm after representing Cyprus in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest with his song ‘Break A Broken Heart’.

And Aussie singer Andre Lambrou is now experiencing the inevitable rock bottom that follows a career high, telling fans in a candid Instagram post that “post-Eurovision depression is real”.

The handsome crooner, 24, shared a photo of himself posing in front of a graffiti-covered wall for an atmospheric photoshoot on Saturday, adding the caption: ‘So I found out that after the Eurovision Song Contest there was actually a there is depression.”

He completed his post with the hashtags #nofear, #eurovision and #takemeback.

Fans rushed to congratulate the former X Factor contestant on his triumphant success in reaching the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest. One of them commented: “You did great Andrew you should be so proud of yourself.”

Sydney-based Andrew, whose parents are Greek Cypriots, represented Cyprus in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest but failed to make the top ten.

Australian newcomer Voyager, meanwhile, made it to ninth place with their synth-rock anthem Promise.

Cyprus was not Andrew’s first choice for representation at the Eurovision Song Contest as he entered the Australia Decides competition in 2022.

With his song “Electrify” he took seventh place out of eleven entries and scored a total of 51 points in the end.

Since then, Andrew has had three hit singles and signed record deals with Panik Records in Greece and City Pop Records.

Andrew found early success at 17 after signing a deal with Sony Music Publishing.

He first rose to fame in 2015 on The X Factor Australia where he made the top 20 before retiring.

The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest was hosted by the United Kingdom on behalf of Ukraine, whose Kalush Orchestra won last year.
