In current Android versions, users can share their Wi-Fi passwords by generating a QR code, or they can view the password in plain text after entering their PIN/password or confirming their biometrics. However, Google just made a change that will make this process even easier.

Sharing a Wi-Fi password gets even faster on Android 14

Currently, to share a Wi-Fi password, you need to go to Settings > Network & Internet > Internet and access the settings of the desired Wi-Fi network. Users then tap the Share Network button or click the QR Code to connect a second device even faster.

However, these sharing options are buried in several menus and therefore not everyone may be aware of them. Now with the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2 update, When users tap the Internet tile in Quick Settings, the new button appears. Pressing this button will prompt users to enter their biometric details or PIN. After verification, there is a seamless transition to the plain text QR code and password interface.

Transferring this feature to the Quick Settings menu. allows users to start the sharing process with a few clicks, without having to navigate through multiple menus. It is therefore an excellent way to simplify Google's operating system, which can sometimes be difficult to fully master. While you wait for the feature to roll out to everyone, you should know that Google is also working on a brand new anti-phishing protection designed to protect you from hackers.
