Angelina Jolie has shared a touching tribute for her late mother’s birthday.

Taking to Instagram on Monday (May 8, 23), the 47-year-old actress shared a photo of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died in 2007 after a nearly eight-year battle with breast and ovarian cancer. In her post, she encouraged her admirers to get regular check-ups, especially if there’s a family history of cancer.
“Today would have been my mother’s 73rd birthday. She died 15 years ago after a long battle with breast and ovarian cancer. “By June, I’ll be a month away from the age she was when she was diagnosed,” says the Maleficent star. I’ve had preventive surgeries to reduce the risk, but I still need to get checked out. »
In 2013, the actress underwent a preventive double mastectomy after learning she had a BRCA1 gene mutation that greatly increased her risk of developing breast or ovarian cancer.
