Angelina Jolie doesn’t want to go into detail about the “why” of her rather sporadic acting performance.
But in an interview with Vogue promoting her clothing line Atelier Jolie, she suggested she was “a little down these days.” In some ways, I don’t feel like I’ve been myself for a decade,” she said, adding, “I don’t want to get involved in that.”
Jolie said she “started doing less film work seven years ago and only taking jobs that didn’t require long shoots.” We had a lot to heal. We’re still finding our feet.”
She divorced Brad Pitt in 2016 and their legal battles are ongoing.
Atelier Jolie is part of this healing process. “I think part of it was therapeutic for me too – working in a creative space with people you trust and rediscovering myself,” she said. “I hope to change many aspects of my life. And that’s the forward-facing one.”
Jolie, 48, said she believes people perceive her based on the clothes she wears.
Therefore, she is still trying to figure out what her style is and wants to look “soft” after being “hurt” in the past.
“Sometimes the way you dress says, ‘Don’t mess with me – I have my armor on,'” she said. “But I want a woman to feel confident enough to be gentle.”
