Angry viewers flock to social media to criticize ‘mediocre’ premiere of ‘The Bachelors’: ‘You could find more attractive men on the street at 4am’

The new season of Channel 10’s dating series “The Bachelors” premiered Sunday night and many viewers weren’t impressed with what they saw.

In the first episode, the audience was introduced to eligible bachelors Luke Bateman, Wesley Senna Cortes and Ben Waddel.

While the trio hopes to win the heart of one of the women vying for their attention, the first episode failed to win the hearts of the audience

Angry viewers quickly took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to complain about what was unfolding before their eyes.

“I have never seen three more mediocre men in my entire life,” wrote one disappointed viewer.

“You could find more attractive men on King Street at 4am and that’s saying something,” another added.

Meanwhile, other users criticized the lack of charisma of the three young men on the show.

“How the hell did Wesley – a guy who’s never had a girlfriend – become one of the bachelors?” vented one angry viewer.

“Oh Ben… so rude.” “A room full of women hoping to chat and you take the only one currently occupied,” a second person interjected.

Others suggested that Channel Ten should revamp the show to make it more interesting to audiences.

“The last time I was really interested in The Bachelor was 2020. Gosh, it’s been a while.”

Despite shocking ratings for last season, which featured three Bachelors instead of just one, Channel 10 has decided to make another attempt to revive the flagging franchise.

“Channel 10 is over the moon with the streaming numbers and the new direction the show has taken,” a source told Chron Australia.

The dating show, known for its dignified moments and rose ceremonies, has survived thanks to its video-on-demand (VOD) audience, the insider said.

“They’re incredibly excited to bring it back for another season and prove that love conquers all – even low ratings!” “The Bachelor is doing surprisingly well in demand, and that’s what really matters in 2023” , they explained.

The Bachelors Australia continues on Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Ten
