Anitta, 30, recalled her troubled past and opened up about the abuse she suffered at the age of 14 on the cover of Vogue Arabia in December.
“After being abused (by my boyfriend as a teenager) to defend myself, I created this person who is not afraid of anything. Because we always blame ourselves when something like this happens, even when we shouldn’t,” she said.
The singer assured that she is very proud of everything she has achieved. “I feel happy. I believe the most important thing in life is when you are not a prisoner of the things you have achieved. I live life and am proud of what I have achieved and the things I have changed. Often when I walk through the streets today. One day people recognize me and come up to me and then I feel real satisfaction.”
