Anitta says she’s been threatened for speaking out on politics but she’s not scared

Since publicly voicing her opinions on politics, Anitta has been embroiled in rows with important figures in the Bolsonaro government, including former minister Ricardo Salles and the president himself.

In an interview with J Balvin in Interview magazine, the singer says: “My family is a little scared. I flew to Brazil this week and I didn’t tell anyone because I received some threats.”

“I am very active this year as the elections are coming up. I want this country to change and I’m not afraid. I tell my family don’t worry if I die I will come back and haunt you. ‘ Anita joked.

Commenting on interactions with the President, she said she believes it was part of his electoral strategy: “He hates me! and I won’t let him do that. So I avoid saying his name. I call him Voldemort.”

When asked if she would like to become president one day, Anitta said no: “I hope Brazil is in good hands and they don’t call me. Before I got involved in politics, I never knew how bad people could be. It’s very sad. “This power makes people blind”.
