Rao, 48, a former CNN news anchor, made headlines during RHOM last year when she gained a reputation for criticizing her castmates. She later left the show sensationally.

Law, 40, who rose to fame with his SBS series The Family Law – which was based on his memoir – has been an outspoken critic of reality TV.

The host and screenwriter has primarily criticized dating shows for their lack of diversity.

It comes after Channel 10 announced former contestants Shonee Bowtell, George Mladenov, Nina Twine, Hayley Leake, Shaun Hampson and Jordie Hansen will return to Australian Survivor next year.

TV Blackbox has also confirmed that filmmaker and activist Rogue Rubin, AFL star David Zaharakis and former Miss World Australia Sarah Marschke will survive in the new season.

Channel 10 has released a location trailer for the new season, which was filmed in Samoa, where the show was last filmed in 2016 and 2017.

The action-packed adventure reality series is set to air next January.

Fans can look forward to a twist that sets it apart from the US version of Heroes v Villains: new players have been thrown into the mix alongside former tribes players.

Earlier this year, host Jonathan LaPaglia said fans can expect great things in 2023.

“Playtime is over,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “Back in the office to make the next season of Survivor… and it’s turning into a ripper.”
