Globo announced an important change in the display of the parade of samba schools in Rio de Janeiro for Carnival 2024. The live broadcast begins at 9:45 p.m., half an hour before the performances begin. The station will take a look behind the scenes and “heat up” until the gates open.

The announcement comes in response to an old complaint from carnival fans who accused Globo of ignoring important details of the parades. The novelty guarantees the presentation of the schools' preparations until they step onto the samba catwalk on Carnival Sunday and Monday.

In July the NaTelinha reported that the lack of sponsorship had led to a new low in Carnival broadcasting on Globo. After two editions, there will be no new season for the Seleção do Samba program. The lowerthanexpected sales in 2023 had a negative impact on the renewal of production.
