Another case was filed against Ada Colau over the Superilla

The judiciary has dropped the case against the former mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, two months before the elections over the projects of new green axes in the Eixample district, after a complaint was lodged by the former chief architect of the city council Josep Antoni Acebillo. The superilla has been applied to four streets in Eixample and consists of removing cars to gain public space.

In a ruling, the Barcelona court upholds the appeal of Colau and former deputy mayor Janet Sanz, who is also under investigation, concluding that possible irregularities in the project approval process do not constitute a crime. Acebillo and lawyers Francesc Jufresa and Ferran Grasas pointed out at the time an urban crime and embezzlement and understood that for a project like this the General Metropolitan Plan (PGM) would have to be changed.

This is the third criminal investigation against Colau that the judicial system has opened in recent months: last week a judge in Barcelona dropped the coercion case brought against her by an investment fund and in October another case was opened against her by City's suspension Hall relations with Israel.
