More than 48 hours after the disappearance of Lt. Col. (R) Ronald Ojeda, Chilean authorities have still failed to solve the mystery surrounding his abduction. The man's disappearance shocked the continent and it has not yet been clarified what the motives for this incident could have been.

Media such as La Tercera de Chile report that the meetings between the government and the investigation team of the case, led by prosecutor Héctor Barros and PDI leader Sergio Muñoz, were attended by the main figures of the Ministry of the Interior who expressed their confusion at the lack of clarity about what happened to Ojeda.

Hypotheses used after the disappearance of Lieutenant Ronald Ojeda
The research has demonstrated three possible hypotheses: an operation to gain access to Venezuelan intelligence services, a self-abduction, or a revenge plot for organized crime. However, none of these lines of research have yet produced conclusive results.

Investigators discovered the use of two other vehicles in the Ojeda kidnapping, but none have been located so far. The review of the surveillance cameras uncovered patents related to the incident. In addition, a car with a cloned license plate was found on Costanera Norte.

One of the central aspects of the investigation will be the analysis of the victim's cell phone, although no messages have been found so far that indicate previous threats or conflicts with criminal groups. There is also no witness testimony to suggest that Ojeda felt in danger before the kidnapping, confusing investigators.

In parallel with the prosecutor's investigation, another complaint was filed in connection with the case. A former Venezuelan soldier, also a deserter from the Maduro regime, has asked the carabineros for police protection, claiming he fears for his life and is in a similar situation to Ojeda. The person was not identified and did not appear at the fourth police station of the Carabineros in Talca.

Given this situation, the organization has ordered protective measures for the former Venezuelan military officer, including regular patrols by uniformed police officers in his area. However, there remains uncertainty about the whereabouts of Lieutenant Ojeda and the circumstances of his disappearance.
