The Boston Bruins have a chance to score a brace tonight when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets at TD Garden.
With a win, they could officially get their hands on the President’s Trophy for the overall winner. At the same time, they could set a franchise record with a 58th win this season.
In the 1970-71 season, the Bruins had 57 wins. It’s been an exceptional season in a context where parity is strong in the NHL.
That’s not all. Earlier this week, the Bruins clinched their 27th away win of the season. The old stamp belonged to the 1971-72 issue which had 26 registered.
