A professor at Polyvalente Lavigne in the Laurentians is facing trial for sex crimes he allegedly committed against four alleged victims over a period of about 10 years while in a position of authority.
Kevin Parent appeared last week in the Saint-Jérôme courthouse where he is accused of numerous charges of sexual harassment, incitement to sexual contact and enticement.
According to our information, the 32-year-old man was a secondary school social studies teacher at Lavigne High School in Lachute. He was also a basketball coach.
He was suspended from school a few weeks before his first arrest last October. New charges were subsequently brought against him.

In total there would have been four fatalities. The teacher also held a position of authority over them, some of whom were minors at the time of the events, reports the Sûreté du Québec.
The events would have taken place between 2012 and 2023 in Lachute, Saint-Jérôme and Laval.
