The Sun obtained footage of the crew attempting the Walk The Plank Challenge on the Focus Building in Surfer’s Paradise.

In the past, celebrities have battled vertigo during the frightening process as they had to climb down a board high in the air before even making it into the jungle.

But this year the show appears to have upped the fear factor even further, with the ITV crew members testing the challenge balancing on all fours on a metal bar.

The frightening challenge requires campmates to hold on as they move forward to reach the stars while dangling from the 300-foot-tall building. The journey to the pole is scary enough, as the stars have to climb down a ladder 32 stories high.

It seems producers decided to make things even scarier and more challenging in response to viewers complaining that some of the trials had become boring.

A source told The Sun: “One thing is immediately clear from the images we’ve seen of test buildings so far and now the brand new Focus Building setup: ITV hasn’t come to play this year.”

“The volume was turned up quite a bit at every Bushtucker Trial. “Everything is on the way to a bigger and better series than ever before.”
