Anthea Turner reveals she’s “accidentally” speaking to sister Wendy again after years of feuding and admits her mother’s death has brought them closer

Anthea Turner has revealed she is “accidentally” speaking to Sister Wendy again.

The 63-year-old presenter and her 56-year-old journalist sister stopped communicating while embroiled in a years-long feud.

The duo refused to explain in detail why they fell out so dramatically many years ago, but discussed reuniting during a joint appearance on Lorraine on Monday.

Anthea also admitted that her mother Jean’s death had brought them closer together. Jean died of pneumonia in May 2022 at the age of 91.

When asked how they got on good terms again, Anthea admitted: “It was an accident,” before Wendy explained that it was because of a WhatsApp message.

She recalled: “I was with mom and dad. Mom was still alive. Dad had problems with WhatsApp on his cell phone. I sent you [Anthea] A WhatsApp message and you called dad and asked, “How did you send a WhatsApp message?”

“It got complicated, so I thought, ‘Oh, give me the phone.’ We started talking on the phone and didn’t stop talking.”

The sisters also discussed how losing their mother, June, and cleaning out their belongings gave them a greater appreciation for each other.

Anthea admitted: “Emotionally we underestimated how difficult it is. “You have to get rid of things from your childhood.

“Mom was a hoarder. I’m glad my sister was there to do this. It must be really hard as an only child.’

Last week, Anthea told OK! Magazine: “We are at the time in our lives where we are closest.” I believe in finding joy in the present and not dissecting the past.

“There’s a little phrase I love: ‘Least said, best mended.’ What’s happening these days is that everyone is saying, “We need to unpack it; Let’s discuss it.’ But I don’t think it’s the right thing to do in every situation.”

Wendy explained: “Neither of us felt the need to discuss the circumstances and arguments that led to our years-long separation.”

“We realized that we had fun together and that we had a lot to offer as a duo.” That doesn’t work if you’re constantly reflecting on the past.

“I consider Anthea my best friend. “We talk on the phone every day.”
