“I had no idea what was going on!” Anthea Turner, 62, reveals she wrote ex-husband Grant Bovey a letter about her ‘terrible’ menopause … while he was cheating on the 24-year-old
Anthea Turner has revealed she wrote a letter to her then-husband Grant Bovey asking him to understand how menopause is driving her behavior – unaware he is already cheating on her with a 24-year-old .
The presenter, 62, said her work commitments made it difficult to have a proper conversation with her ex, so she tried to put the changes she was experiencing on paper.
The couple were married for 12 years before separating at the age of 52 after finding out about his affair.

Former Blue Peter host Anthea said she herself initially didn’t understand what was happening to her and she welcomed the recent more open debate about menopause.
She said on the Postcards From Midlife podcast: “I had no idea what was going on. We need to talk about this – it’s a terrible time.
“You just suddenly don’t feel anymore. And I know it sounds so pathetic to say, “Oh, I don’t feel,” but you really don’t. You feel like someone has entered your body.
“All of your marks are all shifted a few degrees. I got spots on my back and I was sweating. I felt my confidence dropping. I got brain fog, I questioned myself.

“You want to reach out to the person who is the most important thing in your life, your husband, and I couldn’t. I was going back and forth to Toronto at the time because I was doing a program out there.
“But of course what I didn’t realize was that at the time he was going through his own little menopause, he had obviously started out with a very exciting 24-year-old in his life.
“So a sweaty, moaning woman was the last thing he wanted. And I wrote this little letter where I said, you know, please understand.
“Then I read about it and found out a lot more, and I tried to explain it. I thought I’d write everything down and I wrote everything down.’

She said she was alone at Christmas and just days after returning from her own ski vacation, she went on TV show “The Jump” at the ski resort between Christmas and New Year’s.
Anthea added: “I took off after The Jump. The universe put it in my lap. I stood alone before my first Christmas.
“Christmas is great when everything else in your life is beautiful, and when it’s not, Christmas is a horror, an absolute horror.”
Anthea and Grant married in 2000 after first meeting in 1998, with both leaving their respective partners.
They first separated in 2012 and briefly reconciled before finally splitting in 2013, and divorced in 2015 due to his adultery.
The marriage ended after she found out Grant, then 52, was having an affair with interior designer Zoe de Mallet Morgan.
Her discovery came less than a year after she forgave him for an indiscretion with another woman.
Anthea has since found love again with businessman Mark Armstrong, 56.
