She claimed that Brown “started having a fit” that morning, which resulted in her leaving the house with the kids before it “escalated into something violent.”

A second call to 911 was also made, with someone pretending to be a neighbor who referred to a “possible domestic violence case” and saying the mother and her children had been “thrown out of the house” and were “too scared.” to go back in”.

Charges against Brown were dropped and the warrant for his arrest was lifted by Florida authorities last month after the alleged victim in the case recanted her testimony.

“After the alleged victim was sworn in, she recanted her previous allegations regarding Mr. Brown’s intent to hit her or physically harm her,” said a statement from Lopez’s office.

‘The [State Attorney’s Office or SAO] analyzed this new information along with body-worn camera video taken at the crime scene, child protective services investigation and denial of a temporary risk protection order from a law enforcement agency and determined that we could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that battery occurred.

According to the initial police statement, on Nov. 28, Brown got into a verbal argument that turned physical at a home in South Tampa. At one point, Brown allegedly threw a shoe at a woman he locked out of the apartment. He is also accused of throwing her belongings into the street when trying to evict her. The victim told officers Brown had guns in the home.

On Nov. 29, a judge denied a police request for a temporary risk protection order that would have barred 34-year-old Brown from accessing firearms or ammunition.

“On November 28, 2022, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal altercation at a home in South Tampa,” the Tampa Police Department statement said. “Sometime later, the argument turned physical after the suspect threw a shoe at the victim. The suspect also attempted to evict the victim from the home and locked her out of the home.’

Fox’s Tampa affiliate received a police report earlier this month identifying the victim as his former fiancee.

“The suspect left the apartment and threw a shoe at the victim, hitting her in the ponytail,” the police report said. “The victim had no injuries but believed the shoe was intended for her head. The suspect did not answer the door or come outside to speak to officers. The suspect also attempted to issue an informal eviction to the victim during this incident.’

Brown barricaded himself inside the house and investigators said he threatened to shoot the woman if she tried to enter. He told his children they could return to the home, but they said they were scared, according to Tampa police.

According to Tampa’s ABC affiliate, officers were heard shouting at Brown, “We’re not going anywhere.”
