Anya’s new role might keep you from your breakfast.

Taylor-Joy proves she has the acting skills (if not the lamb chops) to take on two-time Oscar winner Ralph Fiennes in The Menu, an upcoming culinary horror movie set in a fancy island restaurant (and no , cannibalism is not). on the menu).

She plays the girlfriend of a young foodie (Nicholas Hoult) who is brought out for the night and is less than impressed by the pretentiousness of the meal – or the violence that follows.

The actors who play the kitchen staff – including Fiennes as the sinister chef Slowik – were trained by Dominique Crenn, the only woman in America to be awarded three Michelin stars (for her Atelier Crenn restaurant in San Francisco).

A new trailer for the film shows a group of well-heeled diners arriving at an upscale mega-restaurant on a remote island for an elaborately assembled meal.

But sinister chef Slowik has other plans for them after they sit down to their custom-made culinary treats.

The Menu hits theaters on November 18th.

Taylor-Joy has just wrapped up filming on the new Mad Max prequel, Furiosa, in Australia.

Production on the latest Mad Max installment Furiosa halted in Sydney earlier this month after legendary director George Miller caught Covid.

Chron Australia said the production, which has been running at multiple locations in and around Sydney since June, has been suspended for a week, with all on-screen filming halted until at least August 15.
