AOC scoffed on Twitter after Democratic Socialist boasted about crushing Amazon HQ in Queens

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “I Told You So” via Amazon didn’t do well.

The Democratic Socialist was mocked when she tweeted about killing an Amazon headquarters in Queens after it was revealed the corporate giant was halting construction of a similar project in Virginia.

When I was against this Amazon project coming to New York because it was a scam with public funds, the whole power establishment came after us… In the end, we were right,” said AOC, which covers parts of Queens and the bronx represents, tweeted.

“I know I’ll never get an apology for this time, but it was worth it,” she continued.

AOC was right — not getting any apologies.

“They spoke out to make headlines and cost your district countless jobs. You should resign in disgrace.” tweeted Jacob Airy.

Journalist Tom Elliott wrote“Virginians have thousands of Amazon jobs that New Yorkers don’t have you to thank.”

An other man tweeted, “That was 3 years ago, Tootsie, and it wasn’t a second headquarters. You are a verified job killer!”

“Right about what? Those jobs went elsewhere,” another Twitter user interfered.

Amazon said it was delaying the second phase of its Virginia project, which followed the biggest round of layoffs in its history.

The construction setback comes four years after the company planned to build its second headquarters in Long Island City, a move that should bring about 25,000 jobs to the area. Amazon would have received $3 billion in state and local tax breaks, which some lawmakers felt was overly generous.
