Apex Legends news has been going well for the past few days. With the Warriors event and Xbox Series X tweak arriving today, let’s take a look back at one of the biggest leaks in gaming history that surfaced on Reddit last week. Obviously, Respawn Entertainment and EA have big plans for the next two years.
Nine new legends and new cosmetics
At the heart of this list of leaks is undoubtedly the reveal of nine Legends never before seen in Apex Legends. Of these nine legends, only one benefits from a visual and it’s about a defensive man called Newcastle (expected for Season 13). Two other defenders also join the roster and are named Uplink and Catalyst, the latter possessing never-before-seen building skills.
Recon devotees will be delighted to discover Scryer and Vantage, two new Legends joining the category. Conduit, Caliber, and Phantom are the next three Legends listed for the Support class. Finally, we can discover Jester, who doesn’t have his own icons yet, but could be a legend of recognition.
These leaks also reveal new cosmetic items, including a legacy for Valkyrie (new set and attack animations). For the upcoming Collector’s Event, all Legends will receive a “Rebelfeed” skin inspired by Rebel outfits. Outside of this Collector Event, five legendary skins for Ash, Loba, Valkyrie, Caustic, and Crypto are planned for release in Bangalore, along with a vanity skin set. Finally, note that Valkyrie and Wraith are entitled to new poses.
A new Battle Royale map and five new Arena Mode maps
Skins aside, it’s obviously the maps that are the most eagerly awaited by the community and it seems that the teams at Respawn Entertainment still have great projects at this level. The most important news is undoubtedly the battle royale map called “Divided Moon”. The latter will take place in space, even if the first renderings are still very simple.
Arena mode also benefits from five new maps from the Titanfall universe. The only one revealed so far would take place in a Hammond Robotics factory, which is where most of the Titan mechas in Titanfall come from. Finally, some changes would be made to two existing maps: Storm Point, Kings Canyon.
New weapons and a game mode inspired by Capture the Flag are coming soon
These big leaks also revealed the existence of new weapons that could be added to Apex Legends in the near future. These include an Energy Assault Rifle called “Nemesis”, a new Autobow called “Scorpion”, an LMG called “Maelstrom” and an Energy SMG called “Gemini”. Akimbo energy cannons named “Fanatic” are also listed.
Finally, a new game mode could be integrated very close to Capture the Flag, and Respawn Entertainment seems set to continue that momentum, as evidenced by today’s return of Control mode. The shooting range training mode is also getting an overhaul with new weapon challenges and an infinite ammo feature with custom challenges.
