In a year where our work-life balance is still the focus of much discussion, it may come as a surprise that the top TV show is about… an office.

Severance, a dystopian series in which workers’ thoughts and memories are “disconnected” between their office and their personal lives, has been crowned RadioTimes.com’s top TV show of 2022.

The Apple TV+ show topped a streaming service-dominated top ten, gaining seven spots.

Apple TV+’s Bad Sisters was sixth, Netflix’s Ozark was eighth, Now TV’s The Lazarus Project was ninth, and the Disney+ Star Wars series Andor was tenth.

Only 20 programs out of 50, including the final episodes of Australian soap opera Neighbors, were from traditional channels.

The BBC dominated terrestrial television thanks to Chloe, Industry and the latest series of Peaky Blinders.

ITV only had two – the woman-led crime drama Karen Pirie, and The Thief, His Wife, and the Canoe, based on the story of John Darwin faking his own death.

The show has already been renewed for a second season by the streaming giant, but a release date has yet to be announced.
