Apple’s most expensive iPhone 15 model is expected to be the company’s most expensive phone to date, costing more than $2,000.
Industry insiders are reporting that the iPhone 15 Max 2TB will be priced at $2,099, which is well above the starting price of a 13-inch MacBook Pro laptop ($1,299).
For comparison, last year’s iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB started at $1,599.
As the name suggests, the new top-end iPhone would be the first to offer two terabytes of storage and is said to feature a titanium finish, an improved camera and a powerful new chip.
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 15 on September 12, but the Pro Max will likely not ship until October due to supply chain issues.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB starts at $1,599, but the upgraded features and 2TB capacity could push the iPhone 15 Max Pro to the $2,099 (stock) mark.

BGR has published a report detailing the increased price as Apple increased the maximum storage to 2TB.
A terabyte is 1,024 gigabytes (GB) that can hold 555,555 JPEG images.
This month, the storage capacity claim also surfaced in a Weibo post, giving the rumor even more weight.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to come in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB as standard.
However, there were rumors that last year’s iPhone 14 Pro models would also come with the 2TB option – which didn’t happen.
The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max were Apple’s first 1TB smartphones as improved camera features eat up storage space.
The MacBook Pro (pictured) has a starting price of $1,299
Apple launched the first Pro Max alongside the iPhone 11 in 2019 with a starting price of $1,099 – and the same was true for the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
When Apple launched the high-end smartphone in 2021, the price of the 1TB jumped to $1,599 and stayed with the iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB.
Rumors about the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max have been circulating on the internet for a long time, because Forbes reported that the smartphone has a 10x optical zoom camera – the current models have a 3x optical zoom.
The improved camera capabilities would be due to the introduction of periscope lenses.
This periscope camera made headway in 2020 after MacRumors saw another research note from renowned Apple product predictor and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Periscope lenses use mirrors to allow for a much larger optical zoom.
With the added technology, moving to titanium would be ideal.
While titanium rivals steel in strength, it can be up to 45 percent lighter, which could make these models significantly easier to transport.
Titanium tolerates higher temperatures better than steel and offers similar protection against water damage.
An Apple expert told 9to5Mac that the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be delayed by two months due to a lack of sensors
Sony is the sensor supplier for Apple, but the image sensor component is reportedly not ready yet.
