There should actually be a Mixed Reality Headset signed by Apple this year 😅! Following in Ming-Chi Kuo’s footsteps in his weekly newsletter, Mark Gurman again speaks of a delay of a few months, while the launch of the device was more or less scheduled for January (the rumor already mentioned 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, we are no longer within a few months!).

According to the Bloomberg snoop, this famous helmet would finally be entitled to a curtain call in the spring ahead of WWDC in June. Marketing of the device would begin later this fall, leaving a bit of time to put money aside as the machine will surely cost candy.

This pace, reminiscent of that of the Apple Watch or Apple Silicon Macs, aims not only to heat up the sauce, but also to give developers time to get acquainted with the novelty (we bet, without getting too carried away deceived that the WWDC will mainly be dedicated to development tools for the helmet). In addition, Apple has already lent some devices to handpicked developers so that they can now start working on the topic.
The operating system would actually be called xrOS (codenamed “Borealis”) and the device itself would be called Reality Pro.
Apple would currently continue to tighten the screws on the hardware, software and services for this product. In addition, a large part of the company would devote itself to the development of the helmet, leaving only crumbs to Macs, iPads, Apple Watch and AirPods. The device has to be a success, at least in the eyes of the public (given the supposed price, there’s little chance it will be a hit with the general public) as the manufacturer has bet a lot on it.
