Rumors predict an increase of 100 euros for future iPhone Pros, which the American brand is due to unveil to the public in September.
Apple is likely to further increase the price of its smartphones. According to the specialist site MacRumors, the Californian company could offer its next iPhone Pro models – the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max – 100 euros more than the iPhone 14 Pro. The manufacturer will unveil its new range of mobile phones on September 12th as part of its back-to-school keynote.
This rumor about another price increase is not new. Hong Kong technology analyst Jeff Pu expected prices to rise in March. And Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman also believes that there will likely be a price increase for the two high-end models.
This could be explained in particular by several new features. Firstly, a titanium body instead of stainless steel to make the screen edges thinner. But also the installation of a periscope camera in the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the switch to the more powerful A17 chip for both devices.
A smaller increase than last year
As a reminder, Apple sold the iPhone 14 Pro for 1,329 euros when it was released, while the 14 Pro Max peaked at 1,479 euros. Devices have already improved significantly compared to their predecessors. The Phone 13 Pro was sold from 1159 euros, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max cost 1259 euros.
This means an additional charge of 170 or 220 euros when switching to the iPhone 14 Pro. Enough to put into perspective the price increase that the new iPhone Pros are expected to see this year.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are expected to maintain a similar price level as the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. When they were released almost a year ago, these two models were offered from 1019 and 1169 euros.
Despite a slowdown in the smartphone market expected in the second half of 2023, Apple is planning a significant price increase for two of its future models. According to Bloomberg, the American company aims to produce 85 million iPhone 15s this year. A value that is slightly lower than the number of iPhone 14 launched last year.
