The Argentine electoral chamber describes versions of fraud in the second round of voting as “unfounded”
Argentina’s National Electoral Chamber (CNE) claimed this Saturday that “representations of alleged electoral fraud by Javier Milei’s La Libertad Avanza (LLA) party are “totally unfounded” in light of this presidential runoff election. in which he will compete against the Peronist Sergio Massa.
The campaign secretary of the (CNE), Sebastián Schimmel, told local media that “these are absolutely unfounded versions, because even in the networks they are not accompanied by arguments, but they create a climate that tries to create a climate of mistrust .”
For several days, Milei’s party has been harboring the existence of a “colossal fraud” but has not presented the evidence in court. “There is no complaint, no fact that justifies this concern,” Schimmel tried to explain the suspected fraud.
Precisely for this reason, the National Electoral Chamber convened representatives of both parties a day before the election to defuse tensions. The meeting ended after 2 p.m. Argentine time and, according to the Telam agency, it was a “cordial meeting” and on good terms, but since it was informal, they left no minutes and agreed not to give any further information about it.
